Exclude B2B

Exclude B2B Customers Feature

1. Introduction

We’ve launched a new feature in Pumper called Exclude B2B.

This feature is designed for merchants who want to hide offers from specific groups of customers, typically wholesale or partner accounts, while still showing them to regular retail buyers.

2. Why This Feature Matters

  • Some merchants work with wholesale buyers who already receive special pricing.
  • Others may have business partners or bulk order clients who shouldn’t see retail discounts.
  • With this feature, merchants can exclude those customers and prevent offers from showing up on their storefront.

3. How the Feature Works

  • Inside the app, merchants will see a new toggle: Exclude B2B Customers.

  • When the toggle is turned ON:
    • The app checks whether the logged-in customer belongs to a B2B company profile in Shopify.
    • If yes, all bundle offers, discounts, or widgets are hidden.
    • If no, offers display as normal.

4. Setting Up B2B Customers in Shopify

Step 1: Navigate to Customers

  • In the Shopify Admin, go to Customers.
  • Click on Companies.

Step 2: Create a Company

  • Click Create company.
  • Give it a name (e.g., Test Company).
  • Add details as needed:
    • Main contact
    • Shipping address
    • Markets & catalogs
    • Payment terms
    • Shipping preferences

Step 3: Add Employees

  • Suppose a company has five employees.
  • Each employee can be added under the company profile.
  • New customers can also be assigned to the company.
  • Click Save once details are added.

5. Example Test Flow

  1. Create a new company in Shopify → Test Company.
  2. Add an employee, e.g., ketan@pumper.run.
  3. Log in to the store using that email.
  4. Because the account is linked to a company, Shopify flags the login as B2B.
  5. On the storefront:
    • Regular retail customers still see offers.
    • B2B customers see nothing—offers are excluded.

6. Key Benefits for Merchants

  • Control who sees offers.
  • Protect wholesale or partner pricing agreements.
  • Keep promotional campaigns targeted only to retail customers.

7. Common Questions

Q: Do I have to create a company for every single customer?

No. This is only needed for your wholesale/partner clients you want to exclude.

Q: Will offers disappear automatically for employees under a company?

Yes. Any employee linked to a company record in Shopify will automatically be excluded.

Q: What if I turn the toggle off?

Then all customers—retail and B2B—will see the offers.

8. Conclusion

The Exclude B2B feature is simple but powerful. It ensures merchants can:

  • Separate retail and wholesale experiences.
  • Avoid giving unnecessary discounts.
  • Build a more professional and tailored storefront.
