Extra Revenue Calculation

📘 Knowledge Base: How Extra Revenue is Calculated in Pumper

🧠 Why Extra Revenue Matters

In Pumper, Extra Revenue tracks how much more money you're making per order thanks to quantity breaks, bundles, BOGO offers, and discount logic.

This isn’t your total sales. It’s the difference your discounts made possible. i.e., revenue you wouldn't have earned if customers only bought one unit or skipped the bundle.

🧮 SECTION 1: Quantity Break Offers

These are discounts triggered when customers buy multiple quantities of the same product.

🔹 QB01 – Each Unit Discount

Scenario: You set a fixed discount per unit (e.g., ₹40 off every unit after the first one).

Example:

  • Product Price = ₹100
  • Each Unit Discount = ₹40
  • Customer adds 4 units

Pumper Logic:

Only the extra units (beyond the first) are considered "boosted" sales.

Formula:

Extra Revenue =40 × (4 - 1) =120

🔹 QB02 – Flat Discount on the Cart

Scenario: You apply a ₹50 flat discount if they buy multiple units.

Example:

  • Cart Discount = ₹50
  • 5 units added

Formula:

Per Unit Discount =50 / 5 =10
Extra Revenue =10 × (5 - 1) =40

🔹 QB03 – Percentage Discount Per Unit

Scenario: You apply a 25% discount on each unit.

Example:

  • Product Price = ₹200
  • Discount = 25%
  • 4 units purchased

Formula:

Discount Per Unit =50
Extra Revenue =50 × (4 - 1) =150

🔹 QB04 – Specific Price for a Set Quantity

Scenario: You offer 4 units for ₹6000 (instead of ₹8000 if bought individually).

Calculation Options:

Option 1:

Treat as per-unit derived price:

6000 ÷ 4 =1500 per unit
Extra Revenue =1500 × (4 - 1) =4500

Option 2 (some setups):

Use full bundle price:

Extra Revenue =6000

You choose how this is logged in the backend.

🧩 SECTION 2: Bundle Offers

These apply when customers buy multiple different products together.

🔹 B01 – Flat Discount on Bundle

E.g., “Buy this bundle of 3 products and get ₹100 off.”

Example:

  • Bundle Price = ₹1000
  • Flat Discount = ₹100

Formula:

Extra Revenue =1000 -100 =900

🔹 B02 – Percentage Discount on Bundle

10% off when buying the whole bundle

Formula:

Extra Revenue = Bundle Price - (Bundle Price × % Discount)
=1000 - (1000 × 10%) =900

🔹 B03 – Bundle with Specific Price

You offer the full bundle for a fixed ₹1000

Formula:

Extra Revenue = ₹1000 (fixed price)

🔹 B04 – Each Unit Discount Inside a Bundle

Each product in the bundle gets a unit-wise discount

Example:

  • Each product gets ₹25 off
  • 3 products × 4 units = 12 items
  • Only extra units count

Formula:

Extra Revenue =25 × (Quantity - 1) × Number of Products

🔀 SECTION 3: Combination Offers

These involve mixed logic applied across different products in the same cart.

🔹 C01 – Flat + % + Specific Price Together

One product has a flat ₹50 off, another has 10%, and another has a specific bundle price

Formula:

Each item is calculated individually using its applicable logic.

Final Extra Revenue = Sum of All Individual Revenues

🔹 C02 – Flat Discount on Variant Priced Items

All items get ₹100 off, but their base prices vary

Formula:

We split the flat discount equally per unit.

Extra Revenue = (Per Unit Discount) × (Quantity - 1)

🔹 C03 – Percentage Discount on Variant Priced Items

Apply same % to items with different prices.

Example:

  • Product A = ₹100, Product B = ₹300, 20% off
  • Units = 3 each

Formula:

Per Unit Discount = 20% × Original Price (per product)
Extra Revenue = Per Unit Discount × (Qty - 1) per product
Final = A + B

🎁 SECTION 4: BOGO Offers (Buy X Get Y)

🔹 BO01 – Buy 2 Get 2 Free

Logic:

Only paid units count in extra revenue.

Example:

  • Product Price = ₹250
  • Buy 2 Get 2 Free applied
  • Total Units = 4
  • Paid Units = 2

Formula:

Extra Revenue =250 × 2 =500

🧪 SECTION 5: Staging / High-Value Tests

🔹 S01 – Specific Price vs High Unit Cost

You offer 4 items originally ₹2500 each for ₹6000 total

Original Cost = ₹10,000, Offer Price = ₹6000

Formula:

Extra Revenue =10,000 -6000 =4000

🔹 S02 – High Quantity Each Unit Discount

₹21 off each unit after the first

Example:

  • 9 units added
  • Discount = ₹21

Formula:

Extra Revenue =21 × (9 - 1) =168

🧬 SECTION 6: Edge Cases

🔹 E01 – Tax-Inclusive Prices

If price includes tax (e.g., ₹120 includes ₹20 tax)

Formula:

Discounts are applied only on pre-tax values
Revenue = (Price - Tax) × % or ₹ Discount × (Qty - 1)

🔹 E02 – Mixed Quantity & Pricing in Cart

Cart has flat discount product, %, specific price, and bundle.

Each is calculated independently, then totaled.

Formula:

Final Extra Revenue = Sum of All Logics Per Product
